Mayor Howe stated that there were many angles of the proposition to which he objected. The main one being that Chula Vista and National City were isolated from a large area served by the California Water & Telephone Company, and would have to share the burden of expenses for the entire territory, leaving the contiguous county territory to receive similar benefits for like taxation. However, it being decided that the adoption of this Resolution simply meant the presentation of the proposition to th'e people for popular vote, it was mutually agreed that the Resolution would be adopted, Whereupon Councilman Perkins offered Resolution No-671. The Resolution was read in full and was passed, adopted and approved by the following vote, to-wit: Ayes: Councilmen Perkins, Burnside, Kidder, Howe, Timmons . Noes: None. Absent: None.
