HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1926-143RESOLUTION NO. 143 • egg ,• I — rar�S85iPi� a� x14-3. - WHEREAS, a general municipal election was held and conducted in the City of Chula Vista, California, on Monday, the 12th day of April, 1926, as required by law, AND WHEREAS, it appears that notice of said election was duly and legally given, and that voting precincts were properly established, that election officers were appointed and election supplies furnished, and thatl,all respects, said election was held and conducted and the votes cast thereat received and canvassed, and the returns thereof, made and declared in time form and manner, as required by the general laws of the State, governing elections in cities of the sixth class, • AND WHEREAS, the board of trustees of said city, met at the council chamber of the board, on Monday, the 19th day of April, 1926, to canvass the returns of said election and install the newly elected officers, as a result of which the board finds that the number of votes cast, the games of the persons voted for, and other matters required by law, to be as hereinafter stated, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: That said regular municipal election was held and conducted in the said city of Chula Vista, California, on Monday, the 12th day of April, 1926, in time, form and manner, as required Sy law; That there was one voting precinct established for the purpose of holding • said election, consisting of the consolidation of the regular precincts established for holding general state and county elections, as follows: "Consolidated Voting Precinct A';, comprising state and county precincts Numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 of Chula Vista; That the whole number of votes cast in said city, was 748. That the names of the persons voted for, the offices for Which they were voted, the number of votes given in the consolidated precinct to each of said persons, together with the whole number of votes which they received in the • entire city, are as follows: • Names of Perseus • Office Precinct Total Voted Fora Voted For. "A" Vote. Lucius B. Barnes Trustee, Full Term 440 Judson Bent, ' , do. 115 Robert Lion, do. • 281 William H. Peters, do. • 500 James R. Scott, do. 475 R. Tyce. - • do. 319 RESOLVED, therefore, that at said general municipal election, Ludius B. Barnes was elected to the office of Trustee of the said City of Chula Vista, California, for the full term of four years, ALSO, thatJames R. Scott was elected to the office of Trustee of said city for the full term of four years; ALSO, that Wm. H. Peters was elected to the office of Trustees of said city for the full term of four years. The clerk shal enter on the records of the Board, a statement of the result of the election, as set forth in the above. The clerk shall immediately make and deliver to each of such persons elected, a certificate of election, signed by him and duly authenticated; he shall, also, impose the•constitutional oath of office and have them subscribe thereto, whereupon they shall be inducted into the respective offices to which they have been elected. Passed, adopted and approved by the Board of Trustees of the City of Chula Vista, California, this 19th day of April, 1926, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Trustees Lyons, Wentworth, Bent, Peters. NOES: Trustees None. ABSENT: Trustees Shaw.
