HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1992-16492 RESOLUTION NO. 16492 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA STATING THE CITY'S INTENT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE NEW HOME FEDERAL HOUSING PROGRAM AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SEND A LETTER OF INTENT TO THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, the City of Chula Vista has been allocated $748,000 of HOME federal housing funds; and WHEREAS, the HOME program regulations require a minimum of $750,000 in order to become a participating jurisdiction; and WHEREAS, $2,000 has been appropriated by the Redevelopment Agency from the low and moderate-income housing fund to be used with the HOME funds for eligible activities; and WHEREAS, the HOME program will enable the City to meet the housing needs of lower-income residents. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista states its intent to participate in the HOME Investment Partnership program and desires to become a participating jurisdiction. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council authorizes the Mayor to submit a letter of intent to participate to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
