RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY CLERK TO
PUBLISH NOTICE FOR BIDS- TO PAVE WALKS
IN AMPHITHEATRE IN CITY PARK.
The City Council. of the City., of Chula Vista, does here-
by resolve as follows:
That the City Clerk be, and he is hereby instructed to,
execute and cause to be published in the Chula Vista Star
that certain notice to Contractors for Bids, dated October 14th,,
1947, a copy of which is attached hereto marked "Exhibit A"
and made a part hereof the same as if fully set out herein.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 14th day of October,1947.

I, HERBERT V. BRYANT, City, Clerk of the City of Chula Vista,
California,, DO HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
duly adopted by the City Council of the said city and was approved
by the Mayor of said city at a regular meeting of said Council held
on the 14th day- of October, 1947v and that it was so adopted by the

APPENDIX "A"
NO T.ICE TO CONTRACTORS INVITING BIDS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Chula Vista,,
California will' receive up to, but not later than.. 4;00 o 'clock
P.M. on the 28th day of October,, 1947,, sealed bids for the
award of a contract for furnishing labor,, materials and equip-
ment for grading, and the spreading and compacting of asphaltic
concrete paving li inches thick on walks in the amphitheatre
in the City Park of the City of Chula Vista, consisting of approx-
imately 7616 square feet..
Each bid must conform and be responsive to this notice
and the plans and specifications and other documents -comprising
the pertinent contract documents on file in the Office of the
City Engineer of said City..
The said City reserves the right to reject any or all bids
or to waive any_ irregularities or informalities in any bids or
in the bidding. Preference will be made in the award for Calif-
ornia made supplies, pursuant to Sections 4330 to 4334,, inclusive,
Government Code.
The said City has determined the prevailing rate of per diem.
wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for
each craft or type of workman needed to execute the contract,,
which will be awarded to the successful. bidder, to be as follows_:

OVERTIME:- Not less than one and one-half times the above prevail-
ing rates of per diem wages' sha'11 be paid for over-time work per-
formed on Sundays and legal holidays as defined in Section ID of
the California Political Code and for work performed in excess of
eight hours in any one calendar day where such Overtime work is
permitted by law. _

The forpgoing schedule of per diem wages is based upon a
working day of eight(8) hours.. The rate for legal holiday and ,
overtime work shall be at time and one-half.. The hourly wage
rate prescribed hereinabove is the per diem rate divided by the.
aforementioned number of hours constituting_ a working day..
It shall be mandatory upon the Cantractor 'to whom the
contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under him,, to .. ,
pay not less than the said specified' rate's to, all laborers,' work,
mans, and mechanics employed by them in the execution of the
contract. .
No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of thirty(30)
days after the date set for the opening of bids..
