HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1947-787 4i RESOLUTION NO. 787 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF • CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA, APPOINTING SANITARY ENGINEERS, FIXING THEIR COMPENSATION AND DUTIES RELATING TO THE PREPARATION OF PLANS AND SPECIFI= _ CATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT AND INCIDENTAL WORK THEREWITH WITHIN SAID CITY. WHEREAS, it is necessary that a Sanitary Engineer be .appointed to make surveys, prepare plans, drawings, maps, profiles and specifications, together with the estimated costs of said improvement. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that KISTNER, CURTIS & WRIGHT, Architects and Engineers, be and they are hereby appointed Sanitary Engineers. That the said Kistner, Curtis & Wright.shall do and cause to be done and performed all the necessary wok such as making surveys, the preparation of plans, maps, drawings, profiles, estimates, specifica- tions, estimating costs and computing bids. The said services shall also include the furnishing of all office and field engineering supplies and equipment required in connection with the performance and duties of such Sanitary Engineers, together with transportation and the testing of materials used in the construction of said improvement when necessary. That the compensation of Said Kistner, Curtis & Wright for the performance of the duties of such Sanitary Engineers is hereby fixed at a sum equal to eight (8%) per cent of the total contract construction cost of said improvement, which compensation shall be included as incidental expenses and shall become a charge against said improvement. The manner of payment of said compensation shall be made in accordance with a contract to be entered into by the parties signatory hereto. -1- In the event that any of the proceedings initiated ceases or is abandoned before the awarding and signing of the contract the City of Chula Vista shall only be liable for the time and expenses actually incurred by the said Kistner, Curtis & Wright upon the following per diem basis and each class or type of workman, required to perform such services, to wit: Fdr personal services of William T. Wright - $40.00 per day For each engineering party of two men - $50.00 per day For each engineering party of three men - $65.00 per day For each stenographer and typist - $10.00 per day For each office engineer or designer - $30:00 per day For each material test - $20.00 In addition to the above per diem rates for engineering services and work incidental thereto, in the event of such abandonment, the said City of Chula Vista shall pay the said Kistner, Curtis & Wright for the actual cost for any and all supplies and materials furnished, to- gether with automobile allowance at the rate of six (6¢} cents per mile in connection with the performance of the engineering services under this resolution of appointment, which said amounts, in the -event of such abandonment shall be submitted to this City Council by an itemized sworn statement of such services and expenses, and shall be prepared, presented and audited in the same manner as demands upon the funds of the said City. -2- c • • PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Chula Vista at a regular meeting thereof held on the 11th day of March 1947, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmen , Riesland, . , Koester, Dyson, Kidder , NOES: Councilmen None ABSENT: Councilmen Nashold c47/2 Q:-/?"-:t.;;■‘r:Z;--- Mayor of the ity of Chula Vista, California I hereby certify that the above and foregoing resolution was padsed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista, California, at the time and by the vote above sta =d. i y Clerk of the C rMIT f ' +ula Vis a, California. -3-
