RURAL RECREATION ACCESS ROUTE FROM ORANGE AVENUE TO
COUNTY REGIONAL PARK
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as
follows:
WHEREAS, under the current Chula Vista Street Design Standards Policy
Wueste Road, which is a local road, would have to be widened and constructed
to a 36-foot-wide roadway with curb and gutter and meet all of the other
design criteria for residential streets, and
WHEREAS, the Olympic Training Center's Traffic Consultant, Urban Systems
Associates, recommended, on the basis of the traffic analysis, that the
existing roadway was adequate to handle the proposed traffic on Wueste Road
from Orange Avenue southerly to the County Regional Park, and
WHEREAS, Urban Systems proposed a Wueste Road Rural Recreation Access
Route standard that would be adequate to handle the traffic on this scenic
roadway due to the volume, character and nature of the projected traffic and
City staff concurred with Urban Systems' recommendation, and
WHEREAS, it is staff's recommendation that the segment of Wueste Road
from Orange Avenue south to the County Park be given a special designation of
"Wueste Road Rural Recreation Access Road" because of the volume, character
and nature of the traffic which will use this segment of the road, and
WHEREAS, the special designation for Wueste Road will provide for 24
feet of pavement and 8-foot graded shoulders within a 60-foot right-of-way
with other design criteria indicated on Exhibit "A".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
