HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1990-15611 RESOLUTION NO. 15611 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA ADOPTING A STREET DESIGN STANDARD WUESTE ROAD RURAL RECREATION ACCESS ROUTE FROM ORANGE AVENUE TO COUNTY REGIONAL PARK The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, under the current Chula Vista Street Design Standards Policy Wueste Road, which is a local road, would have to be widened and constructed to a 36-foot-wide roadway with curb and gutter and meet all of the other design criteria for residential streets, and WHEREAS, the Olympic Training Center's Traffic Consultant, Urban Systems Associates, recommended, on the basis of the traffic analysis, that the existing roadway was adequate to handle the proposed traffic on Wueste Road from Orange Avenue southerly to the County Regional Park, and WHEREAS, Urban Systems proposed a Wueste Road Rural Recreation Access Route standard that would be adequate to handle the traffic on this scenic roadway due to the volume, character and nature of the projected traffic and City staff concurred with Urban Systems' recommendation, and WHEREAS, it is staff's recommendation that the segment of Wueste Road from Orange Avenue south to the County Park be given a special designation of "Wueste Road Rural Recreation Access Road" because of the volume, character and nature of the traffic which will use this segment of the road, and WHEREAS, the special designation for Wueste Road will provide for 24 feet of pavement and 8-foot graded shoulders within a 60-foot right-of-way with other design criteria indicated on Exhibit "A". NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby adopt a Street Design Standard - Wueste Road Rural Recreation Access Route from Orange Avenue to County Regional Park as set forth in Exhibit A.
