HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Statement 1984/12/11 Item 9 COUNCIL AGENDA STATEMENT Item 9 Meeting Date 12/11/84 ITEM TITLE: Resolution l/4 Designating Authorized City Representatives to Acquire Federal Surplus Property from the California State Agency for Surplus Property SUBMITTED BY:Assistant City Manager (4/5ths Vote: Yes No X ) REVIEWED BY: City Manage Public Law 94-519, enacted October 17, 1976 and effective October 17, 1977, provided for the donation of Federal surplus property through a designated State agency to any public agency. The State Surplus Property Agency has been designated by the State of California as the official agency for that purpose and, in order for the City to retain its eligibility to participate in the program, authorized signators must be periodically updated. RECOMMENDATION: Adopt resolution. BOARDS/COMMISSIONS RECOMMENDATION: N.A. DISCUSSION In order to continue the City's eligibility, a resolution designating City officials as individuals authorized to acquire surplus property must be filed with the State Surplus Property Agency. The attached resolution designates the City Manager or Assistant City Manager as those authorized to sign for Category I (surplus property in any amount) , and the City Manager, Assistant City Manager, Director of Public t!orks/City Engineer, or Deputy Director of Public Works as authorized to sign for Category II (surplus property up to a cost of $3,000) .
