The contract was awarded by Council Resolution 11744 on August 28, 1984. The contract is dated September 14, 1984. RECOMMENDATION: That Council approve resolution accepting public improvements. BOARDS/COMMISSIONS RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable. DISCUSSION: Daley Corporation completed the overlay of Whitney Street on October 19, 1984. A final inspection was made on November 2, 1984. All work was found to be completed in accordance with the contract, plan and specifications and to the satisfaction of the City Engineer. FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Authorized Expenditure $42,800.00 Contract Amount 38,888.00 Final Construction Cost 42,370.10 Balance of Authorized Expenditure 429.90 The final construction cost exceeds the contract amount of $38,888 by $3,482.10, or 9 percent. The increased cost is due to the actual quantity of 1 ,226 tons of asphaltic concrete placed as compared to the estimated quantity of 1 ,120 tons. The additional 106 tons was required to complete the project and was due to the extreme irregularities in the surface of the old pavement. FISCAL IMPACT: The City will maintain the improvements.
