HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Statement 1984/11/13 Item 11 COUNCIL AGENDA STATEMENT Item 11 Meeting Date 11/13/84 ITEM TITLE: Resolution // .3,7Z Authorizing the transfer of the Greg Rogers House to Mr. and Mrs. Lee Burch and authorizing the Mayor to execute an agreement evidencing said transfer SUBMITTED BY: Community Development Director 5ths Vote: Yes No X ) REVIEWED BY: City Manager At the July 24 Council meeting, Council directed staff 1 . to oversee the relocation of the Greg Rogers House to 614 Second Avenue, a privately owned lot by Mr. and Mrs. Lee Burch; 2. to prepare an agreement that preserves the house's historic value. RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute the agreement between the City and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Burch. BOARDS/COMMISSIONS RECOMMENDATION: The Resource Conservation Commission recommends private ownership and the moving of the house to 614 Second Avenue. DISCUSSION: At a public hearing set by the Planning Commission for October 24, action was taken to unanimously approve the conditional use permit for a second dwelling to be located in the rear portion of 614 Second Avenue. The attached agreement (Exhibit A) includes the provision for the repayment of $13,686.65 for City's moving costs and the removal of the house from City's corporate yard upon transfer of a bill of sale. The agreement also provides for indemnification for the City for seen and unseen defects in the house and in the result of injury. Finally, the agreement calls for rehabilitation of the structure within one year from the date of this Agreement. FISCAL IMPACT: $13,686.35 of City funds spent for moving the structure to its temporary location in the City's Public Works yard will be repaid. WPC 1276H // r, p //.. //— /3 rt.
