Item 9
Meeting Date 10/23/84
ITEM TITLE: Resolution //7 ' Accepting grant of easement for drainage
purposes within Parcels 5, 6, and 7, and for street purposes
along Bay Boulevard within P.M. 84-9 (a portion of Rancho de
la Nacion Map 166)
SUBMITTED BY: Director of Public Works/
City Engineer (4/5ths Vote: Yes No X )
REVIEWED BY: City Manager
On August 31 , 1984, the Engineering and Planning Departments conditionally
approved Tentative Parcel Map 84-9. One of the conditions of approval was the
dedication of a portion of Bay Boulevard in accordance with Chula Vista
Drawing T-690 (a plan prepared and approved by the City of Chula Vista
Engineering Department staff). The developer is also proposing the
construction of a public storm drain system through parcels 5, 6 and 7. The
City therefor needs an easement for said storm drain system.
RECOMMENDATION: That City Council accept the grants of easement for street
and drainage purposes.
DISCUSSION:
Prior to the approval of Tentative Parcel Map 84-9, the City required the
owner of said property ( Ratner Development Company) to grant an easement for
street purposes along Bay Boulevard to the City. Said easement is necessary
to enable the developer to complete the required improvements in accordance
with City standards.
A 40-inch public storm drain system is proposed by the developer through
parcels 5, 6, and 7. Therefor it is necessary to obtain a drainage easement
from the owner.
On October 5, 1984, Ratner Development Company, a partnership that includes
Greenwald/McDonald & Company executed the necessary documents to grant both
the street and drainage easements to the City.
A plat is available for Council viewing.
FISCAL IMPACT: None.
