RECOMMENDATION: That Council accept the bids and award the contract to Asphalt Inc. BOARDS/COMMISSIONS RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable. DISCUSSION: Six vendors were mailed bid documents, with two responding as follows: BIDDER PRICE PER TnN Asphalt Inc. , El Cajon $12.83 Sim J. Harris Co. , San Diego 13.45 The screenings are to be used for the Street Chip Sealing Program. An estimated 5,000 tons will be ordered delivered to the City yard. The 1983-84 price per ton was $10.93. The increase for 1984-85 is 17%. FISCAL IMPACT: Funds available in Gas Tax account.
