HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Statement 1984/06/26 Item 8 COUNCIL AGENDA STATEMENT Item 8 Meeting Date 6/26/84 ITEM TITLE: Resolution //q/ Accepting bids and awarding contract for asphaltic emulsions, SUBMITTED BY: City Engineer' '/1 (4/5ths Vote: Yes No X ) Purchasing AgW 9/L, REVIEWED BY: City Manager Bids were received and opened at 9:00 a.m. on June 8, 1984, in the office of the Purchasing Agent for furnishing RS-2 asphaltic emulsions with latex to the City of Chula Vista for the period July 1 through September 30, 1984. RECOMMENDATION: That Council accept the bids and award the contract to Western Emulsions Inc. BOARDS/COMMISSIONS RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable. DISCUSSION: Four vendors were mailed bid documents, with two submitting the following: BIDDER PRICE PER TON Western Emulsions, Escondido $176.85 Sim J. Harris Co. , San Diego 177.00 The material will be used for the Street Chip Sealing Program which will be completed by the end of September. An estimated 525 tons will be delivered to the City yard. The 1983-84 price per ton was $179.73. FISCAL IMPACT: Funds available in Gas Tax account.
