The contractor, Lekaunas Electric, completed the street light project to the satisfaction of the City Engineer on April 2, 1984, and it is now appropriate to accept this work and make final payment. RECOMMENDATION: That the City Council adopt the attached resolution accepting the public improvements on "L" Street between Broadway and Industrial Boulevard. . BOARDS/COMMISSIONS RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable. FINANCIAL IMPACT: The total cost to the City for this project is $21 ,785.60 broken down as follows: Funds budgeted for project GT156 ( installation of street lights on "L" Street, Broadway to Industrial Boulevard) $33,000.00 Less Engineering Costs - 2,900.00 Less Construction Costs -18,885.60 Unused Balance $11 ,214.40 FISCAL IMPACT: The increase in annual cost for operating the nine new lights versus the five existing lights is as follows: Proposed street lights, 9 lights x $13.10 per month = $117.90 Existing street lights on utility poles - 5 lights x $20.97 per month = 104.85 Increase per month $ 13.05 Thus, the total cost increase Y er year is $156.60. • P DWW:nr/ WPC 0977E (.y f ?� of C ..-S
