It is important that the City reiterate its support of both the Sweetwater River Flood Control Project and the Telegraph Canyon Creek Flood Control Project. RECOMMENDATION: 1 . That the accompanying resolutions be adopted by the City Council , and 2. that the City Clerk be directed to transmit certified copies to Mr. Roger Honberger for submission to the appropriate Congressional body. BOARDS/COMMISSIONS RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable. DISCUSSION: Chula Vista has worked in concert with the County of San Diego and others for many years to achieve flood control facilities along both the lower Sweetwater River and lower Telegraph Canyon Creek. Considerable progress has been made on both projects, but those efforts will be in vain unless Congress provides the necessary funding in the upcoming budget for fiscal year 1985. Therefore, it is of vital concern to this community to exert strong influence on Congress for approval of such funds. Copies of the resolutions will be transmitted to San Diego County' s Washington representative for his use in informing Congress and/or its committees of the City's interest in these essential projects.
