AVENUE AND nEn STREET AND DIRECT- ING PUBLICATION OF ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: That those certain contract documents for the construction, installation and completion of traffic signals at 3rd. Avenue and ”En Street in the City of Chula Vista, complete and ready for occupancy, copies of which attached hereto and by this reference incorporated herein, be and the same are hereby approved. That Herbert V. Bryant, City Clerk of the City of Chula Vista, be and he is hereby authorized and directed to publish the Advertisement for Bids, a copy of which is attached hereto, for the time and in the manner required by law. City of Chula Vista, California, until 7 o'clock, P.M. , on January 10th, 1950, at which time they will be publicly opened and read, for performing work as follows: The installation of traffic signals, and appurtenances, at Third Avenue and "E" Street in the City of Chula Vista, complete and ready for operation. No bid will be received unless it is made on a proposal form furnished by the City Engineer. Each bid must be accompanied by cash, certified or cashier's check, or bidder's bond made payable to the City of Chula Vista for an amount equal to at least ten (10) per cent of the amount bid, such guaranty to be forfeited should the bidder to whom the contract is awarded fail to enter into the contract. In accordance with the provisions of Chapter 397, Statutes of 1931, the City Council has ascertained the general prevailing rate of wages applicable to the work to be done as follows: Classification Rate of Pay Carpenter $ 2.12 per hr; Cement Finisher 2.20 per hr; Electrical Worker 2.50 per hr; Laborer 1.57 per hr. All bids are to be compared on the basis of the City Engineer's estimate of the quantities of work to be done. No bid will be accepted from a Contractor who has not been licensed in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 791, Statutes of 1929, as amended. -1.. Plans may be seen, and forms of proposal, bonds, contract, and specifications may be obtained at the office of the City Engineer, City Hall. The special attention of prospective bidders is called to the "Proposal Requirements and Conditions" annexed to the blank form of proposal, for full directions as to bidding, etc. A deposit of $10. 0 will be required for each set of plans, specifications, and contract documents obtained from the City Engineer' s Office. This deposit will be refunded if the set or sets of plans, specifications, and contract documents delivered are returned in good condition within ten (10) days after the bid opening.
