Home My WebLink AboutReso 1990-15534 RESOLUTION NO. 15534 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA AUTHORIZING EMERGENCY REPLACEMENT OF A PUBLIC WORKS INSPECTOR PICKUP WITH A FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE EXTENDED CAB VEHICLE The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, in December, one of the Public Works inspector's was involved in an automobile accident that resulted in the damage of his pickup truck, and WHEREAS, as a result of repair estimates received in excess of the vehicle's value, the vehicle is being totalled out, and WHEREAS, due to the changing nature of the Public Works inspections tasks for the next few years, staff is recommending that a four-wheel drive extended cab vehicle be purchased so that the inspectors will be able to get into the new subdivisions from the grading phase forward, and WHEREAS, the proposed vehicle will allow for the inspectors to perform their job and assure that the subdivisions are built according to submitted plans. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby authorize the emergency replacement of a Public Works inspector pickup with a four-wheel drive extended cab vehicle.
