RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA
RATIFYING THE SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN
THE CITY AND THE WYATT COMPANY FOR BENEFIT CONSULTING
SERVICES, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE AMENDMENT
AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as
follows:
WHEREAS, the City has been contracting with The Wyatt Company for
health and welfare benefit consulting services since January 12, 1988, and
WHEREAS, this amendment will extend the existing contract for one
year, expand the scope of work and revise the contract cost, and
WHEREAS, extending this contract requires a special appropriation
of $15,259 due to unanticipated work this past year, and
WHEREAS, it would be impractical to go out to bid for another
contractor due to The Wyat Company's knowledge and experience in this matter.
A new company would have to come up to speed in this area which would be
neither efficient nor cost effective.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Chula Vista does hereby ratify the Second Amendment to the agreement between
the City of Chula Vista and The Wyatt Company for benefit consul ting services,
a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference as if
set forth in full.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the City of Chula Vista
be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Second Amendment
for and on behalf of the City of Chula Vista.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the sum of $15,259 is hereby
appropriated from the unappropriated balance of the General Fund to the
Insurance Account 100-0700-5202.

hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution No. 15505 was duly passed,
approved, and adopted by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista,
California, at a regular meeting of said City Council held on the 6th day of
February, 1990.

Second Amendment to Agreement Between the City of Chula Vista and The Wyatt Company
WHEREAS, on January 12, 1988, the City and The Wyatt
Company entered into an agreement for the performance of Employee
Benefits Consulting Services, and
WHEREAS, on January 24, 1989, the City ratified the First
Amendment to the agreement which extended the agreement for one
year, and
WHEREAS, it is now desirable that said agreement be
extended and that new services for additional compensation be
added.
NOW, THEREFORE, City and The Wyatt Company (Consultant)
agree as follows:
I. Term. The term of the Agreement is hereby extended one
year to January 11, 1991.
II. SCODe of Work - Consultant. The following services are
added to this section:
N. Continue to evaluate the City's liability with respect
to retiree health benefits.
O. Continue to assist the City in the redesign of its
Flexible benefit Plan.
P. Assist the City in implementation and maintenance of
The Select Plan.
The City reserves the right to assign "not to exceed"
dollars of compensation for each project contained in this
section.
IV. Compensation. City will pay Consultant a sum not to
exceed $40,259 for all work set forth in this and past
amendments and the initial agreement.
All other provisions of the Agreement dated January 12, 1988 will
remain in full force and effect during the term of this agreement.
