The contract under which its service is provided is up for renewal . :COMMENDATION: That Council extend the contract with the addition of a hold harmless ause, designation of contractor as an "independent contractor" , and a requirement for mtractor to have insurance. IARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: N/A SCUSSION: The Employee Assistance Program has been in existence for almost years and it appears that it is meeting, or actually surpassing its objectives. le original objectives were to reach 1% of the total workforce, however, recent reports iow that almost 11% of our employees have used the program. reviewing the contract it was noted that three items were not included that are ;eful to the City. These three items, II STATUS AS AN INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR, INDEMNIFICATION, and VI INSURANCE, have been added with Mr. Rogers consent. SCAL IMPACT: $5,400 has been allocated in the 1983-1984 budget for the iployee Assistance Program. This amount reflects an increase over last year of XO0 or 8%, due to inflation in the cost of operations.
