ITEM TITLE: Resolution /a 2.-b9 Authorizing submission by SCOOT of the
FY 1986-87 Transportation Development Act (TDA) Article 4.0
Claim
SUBMITTED BY: Director of Public Works/City Engineer 91/4/
REVIEWED BY: City Manager ' (4/5ths Vote: Yes No X )
The FY 1986-87 SCOOT claim for TDA Article 4.0 funds to support Chula Vista
Transit (CVT) operations was submitted to MTDB and SANDAG on April 1 , 1986.
State law requires that TDA claims be submitted to MTDB and SANDAG by April 1
prior to the fiscal year for which TDA funds are claimed. The total SCOOT
claim is $795,340, consisting of $759,950 claimed against the City of Chula
Vista's apportionment of $1 ,854,047, and $35,390 claimed against the County of
San Diego's apportionment.
RECOMMENDATION: That Council authorize SCOOT Board to submit the FY 1986-87
TDA Article 4.0 claim.
BOARDS/COMMISSIONS RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable.
DISCUSSION:
The FY 1986-87 SCOOT claim consists of the following components:
City of Chula Vista County of San Diego Total
Operations $751 ,110 $35,390 $786,500
Capital 8,840 0 8,840
TOTAL $759,950 $35,390 $795,340
The $35,390 from the County of San Diego's TDA account is for CVT service
provided by Route 705. The $751 ,110 is for CVT operating costs claimed
against the City of Chula Vista' s apportionment and $8,840 is for capital
items contained in the FY 1986-87 SCOOT budget request. Subtracting the
$759,950 from the City of Chula Vista's FY 1986-87 apportionment of $1 ,854,047
will leave a balance of $1 ,094,097. A portion of this balance will pay for
San Diego Transit (SDT) Route 32 service in the City of Chula Vista. Staff
will present a report to Council in June 1986 regarding the possible extension
