HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Statement 1986/03/11 Item 8 COUNCIL AGENDA STATEMENT Item 8 Meeting Date 3/11/86 ITEM TITLE: Resolution/g14,& Amending and Extending Contractual Agreement with the State of California for the Services of Lieutenant Billy Cox, Sr. SUBMITTED BY: Directort4 Public Safety (4/5ths Vote: Yes Nom ) REVIEWED BY: City Manage The contract with the State of California, Department of Youth Authority, for the services of Lieutenant Billy Cox, Sr. has to be amended to reflect an extension for a third year as well as changes in his salary and benefits. RECOMMENDATION: That Council adopt Resolution Amending Contract On February 19 , 1985, the Council adopted Resolution 11938, a contract with the State Department of Youth Authority, for the services of Lieutenant Billy Cox, Sr. from May 1, 1985 to April 30, 1986 . This contract requires the State to reimburse the City in full for the salary and fringe benefits paid to Lt. Cox. This contract has to be amended due to salary and fringe benefit changes in fiscal year 1985-86 . These changes with the new rates are listed in Attachment A. Staff was recently contacted by the California Youth Authority staff and they have requested our approval to extend the contract for a third year. They have advised that Lt. Cox has continued to perform in a very effective manner. He is currently involved in a number of projects that will be completed in the third year. This third year will commence May 1, 1986 and conclude April 30, 1987 . The salary and fringe benefits estimated for the third year are set forth in Attachment B. Lt. Cox will be retiring at the end of this third year. Staff recommends that the third year option be granted.
