The petition from Eastlake property owners accepted by Council on November 12, 1985,
contained a section requesting the formation of a maintenance district pursuant to the
provisions of the "Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972", being Division 15, Part 2 of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, for certain supplemental lighting and
landscaping maintenance work.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolutions.
BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS RECOMMENDATION: N/A
DISCUSSION:
The Eastlake Public Facilities Financing Plan requires the formation of an open space
Maintenance District prior to the recording of the first maps for residential development.
)ursuant to the "1972 Act", an annual assessment will be levied after processing and a
)ublic hearing to perform maintenance in the Eastlake street medians, open space and other
areas as designated. No assessment is contemplated in the first year during construction n
Eastlake.
;UMMARY OF COUNCIL ACTIONS:
through the adoption of the above Resolutions, the City Council will have generally accom-
)lished the following:
L. Approved the boundaries of the Maintenance District
'.. Initiated proceedings and ordered the preparation of the Engineer's "Report"
3. Approved a Preliminary Engineer's "Report"
3. Approved a Resolution of Intention to form the District and set the matter for public
hearing.
'ISCAL IMPACT: None to the City. All costs of the Maintenance Distirict, including
►dministration, will be paid by assessments.
