ITEM TITLE: Resolution/''.5/- Reciting the fact of the Municipal General Election held
on the 5th day of November 1985, declaring the results thereof and such other
matters as are provided by law
SUBMITTED BY: City Clerk (4/5ths Vote: Yes No X )
The General Districts/Municipal Election was held on Tuesday, November 5, 1985
for the purpose of filling two Council Seats (Nos. 1 and 2) , five (5) Propositions
and seven (7) Members to the Montgomery Community Planning Committee. In accordance
with Resolution 12095 adopted by the City Council on July 16, 1985, the City Clerk
has been directed to canvass the election results.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution.
DISCUSSION:
The Certification of the Election Results as made by the Registrar of Voters is
attached along with the City Clerk's Certificate of Canvass. The results show
the following elections:
Seat No. 1 - Gayle L. McCandliss
Seat No. 2 - Leonard M. Moore
Propositions B-C-D-E-F passed.
Montgomery Planning Committee: J. 0. Lee Solomon
Ed Storm
Ben G. Patton
Joe A. Berlanga
Fred M. Creveling
Robert P. Fox
W. Scott Frazeur
FISCAL IMPACT: The final cost of the election is not known, but to date the
following has been paid: .

You will find enclosed City Council Resolution 12251
declaring the results of the election held on Tuesday,
November 5, 1986 and the certification f said results
by the Registrar of Voters for San Diego County, Ray Ortiz.
The election was held for:
Two Council Seats
Five Propositions
Seven members to the Montgomery Planning Committee
Question of annexation of the Montgomery Area
Question of incorporation of Montgomery Area
As a result of the election, the community of Montgomery was
annexed to the City of Chula Vista - the largest inhabited area
to be annexed in the State of California.
We respectfully request that said filing be accepted and certified
as of the date of receipt by the Secretary of State.
