RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA, CALIFORNIA RECITING THE FACT OF THE CONSOLIDATED
MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON THE 6TH DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1990,
DECLARING THE RESULT THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS
ARE PROVIDED BY LAW
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as
follows:
WHEREAS, a consolidated municipal election was held and conducted in the
City of Chula Vista, County of San Diego, State of California, the 6th day of
November, 1990, as required by law, and
WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly given in time,
form and manner as provided by the law; that voting precincts were properly
established; that election officers were appointed and that in all respects
said election was held and conducted and the votes were cast, received and
canvassed and the returns made and declared in time, form and manner as
required by the provisions of the Elections Code of the State of California
for the holding of elections in cities, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 15695, adopted on the lOth day of
July, 1990, the Registrar of Voters, directed by the Board of SuperVisors,
canvassed the returns of said election and has certified the results to this
City council, (and as certified by the Registrar of Voters of the County of
San Diego), said results are received, attached and made a part hereof as
"Exhibit A".
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA CALIFORNIA,
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That there were 91 voting precincts in the City established
for the purpose of holding said election consisting of the regular elections
precincts in the City of Chula Vista, as established for the holding of state
and county elections.
SECTION 2. That said consolidated municipal election was held for the
purpose of election of the office of Mayor for a full term of four years and
two Councilmembers for full terms of four years.
SECTION 3. That at said municipal general election, the following
measures were submitted to the electors of said City, to wit:

PROPOSITION R:
An amendment to the Charter of the City of Chula Vista amending Article
VI, Section 607, to give Council the authority to change the number of
members of the Board of Library Trustees from 5 to a number greater than
5, if the City Council determines such an increase above 5 members is
desirable.
PROPOSITION S:
An amendment to the Charter of the City of Chula Vista amending Article
VI, Section 602, to prohibit membership by any person on more than one of
the following Charter-created advisory boards or commissions at the same
time: Planning Conmnission, Board of Library Trustees, Civil Service
Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission.
SECTION 4. That the whole number of votes cast in said City including
absent voter ballots was 32,600.
SECTION 5. That the names of persons voted for at said election are as
follows:
Mayor (full term - 4 years)
Gayle McCandliss
Robert Piantedosi
Seat No. 1 (full term - 4 years)
Jerry R. Rindone
Carlos Batara
Seat No. 2 (full term - 4 years)
Frederick A.R. Drew
Robert Fox
Leonard M. Moore
That the number of votes given at each precinct to each of such persons
above named for the respective offices for which said persons were candidates
are as shown in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and made a part hereof by
reference.
That the Propositions voted upon at said election are as set forth herein
above.

SECTION 6. The City Council does declare and determine that:
Gayle McCandliss was elected as Mayor of said City for a full term of
four years.
Jerry R. Rindone was elected as Member of the City Council (Seat No. 1)
of said City for a full term of four years.
Leonard M. Moore was elected as Member of the City Council (Seat No. 2)
of said City for a full term of four years.
SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the City Council
of said City, a statement of the results of said election, showing:
(1) The names of the persons voted for;
(2) The measures voted upon;
(3) For what office each person was voted for;
(4) The number of votes given at each precinct to each person, and for
and against each measure.
SECTION 8. That the City Clerk shall immediately make and shall deliver
to the person so elected a Certificate of Election signed by her and duly
authenticated; that she shall administer to such person so elected the Oath of
Office prescribed in the State Constitution of the State of California and
shall have him subscribe thereto and file the same in her office. Whereupon,
said person so elected shall be inducted into the office to which he has been
el ected.
SECTION 9. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption
of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original Resolutions
of said City, and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in
the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the
minutes of the meeting at which the same is adopted.

PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Chula
Vista, California, this 4th day of December, 1990 by the following vote:
