ITEM TITLE: Resolution /a2/ .. Appropriating funds for construction of
additional sidewalk improvements in conjunction with
construction of street and drainage improvements in Las Flores
Drive and "D" Street between Second Avenue and Minot Avenue in
the City of Chula Vista, California

The City Council at their meeting on July 16, 1985, accepted bids and awarded
a contract for construction of street and drainage improvements in Las Flores
Drive and "D" Street between Second Avenue and Minot Avenue in the City of
Chula Vista, California. In addition, the Council approved Change Order No. 1
for the construction of street improvements to provide the additional
sidewalks. $10,000 for Change Order No. 1 came out of project contingency
funds originally appropriated for this project. This resolution will replace
those funds to the project. The item was continued to this meeting because a
full Council was needed in order to receive a 4/5ths vote.
RECOMMENDATION: That Council ;
1. Appropriate an additional $10,000 from the unappropriated balance of the
Gas Tax funds for the construction of the additional sidewalk improvements.
2. Authorize the expenditure of $10,000.
BOARDS/COMMISSIONS RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable.
FISCAL IMPACT: Routine City maintenance.

increase the contact dated July 31 , 1985, betwec,l the City of Chula
Vista and R . E . Hazard Contracting Company .
REMARKS AND DETAILS :
On Las Flores Drive and "D" Street construct street improvements
previously deferred by the City at ; 142 Minot ( on Las Flores Drive )
174 "D" Street, 172 "D" Street, 163 "D" Street, , 164 "0" Street, 161
"D" Street and 149 "D" Street.
The improvement work consists of , but may not be limited to ,
unclassified excavation , grading , clearing and grubbing and subgrade
preparation , asphalt concrete pavement, 6" P . C . C . pavement, processed
miscellaneous base , select subbase , 6" P . C . C . curb and gutter, 4"
P . u .C . sidewalk and 6" P . C . C . driveways .
The following work to be performed in accordance with the contract

The amount of $26,400 . 00 is considered full compensation for
performing the above described work and furnishing all labor, tools ,
equipment and material to perform the above described work and no
additional compensation will be due .
