This authorization reiterates and fiscally implements that budget provision. It is proposed that Mr. William Harshman be retained to perform such professional services because of his detailed knowledge and extensive experience in local interagency sewerage relationships. the RECOMMENDATION: thorizi ng the Council Mayor to execute the document i n behalf of the contract and au 9 City. BOARDS/COMMISSIONS RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable. DISCUSSION: The proposed contract calls for hiring of a Sewerage Consultant during the 1985-86 fiscal year. The contract calls f or the performance of sewerage-related tasks characteristically involving interagency negotiations and/or agreement. While the contract lists a series of potential tasks, the actual assignments pthe othen current shall needs of ttheiCity. Al lthe tasks rector signeduwill Works based upon the sewerage-rel ated. It is proposed that Mr. William Harshman be retained on an hourly basis per the terms of the Contract. He is uniquely qualified to serve the City as a Sewerage Consultant because of his long experience (33 years) as an employee of the City during which time one of his primary duties was interagency sewerage matters. His continued availability will permit continuity in the disposition of such matters as well as the opportunity to train designated Engineering personnel so as to permit their eventual assumption of responsibility. The contract provides for the work to be accomplished on a part-time schedule so as to assure avail abilite f the Consul tant f or staff consul tation throughout much of the Y ar by the City Council of Chula Vista, California Dated 7-'/6 md`'!
