RESOLUTION APPOINTING COORDINATOR OF DISASTER
COUNCILS AND. CREATING AGREEMENT FOR MUTUAL AID
{ FOR THE CITIES AND THE COUNTY OF SAN DIEGO
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE
'• AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the City of Chula Vista, the City of Coronado, the
City of El Cajon, the City of Escondido, the City of La Mesa,
the City of National City, the City of Oceanside, the City of
San Diego, and the County of San.Diego, hereinafter referred to
as the Agencies, have established disaster councils pursuant to
the California Disaster Act (Sections 1500 and following, Mili-
tary and Veterans Code) ; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Chula Vista
determines that .it is desirable that the duly appointed and act-
ing Director of Civil Defense of the County of -San Diego be
. chosen to act as Coordinator of Disaster Councils for the whole
of said County of San Diego to coordinate the activities of the
disaster councils of the Agencies, and to develop and submit to
the Agencies for approval a plan for mutual aid among the Agencies
in the event of- disaster or extreme emergency, as authorized by
Sections 1562 and 1571 of the Military and Veterans Code;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED AND ORDERED by the
City Council of the City of Chula Vista as follows:
1. That the present duly appointed and acting Director of
Civil Defense of the County of San Diego,and any successor to
said office, is hereby approved as Coordinator of Disaster Coun-
cils for the Agencies; that he is empowered on behalf of this
Agency to coordinate the activities of the disaster councils of
the Agencies, and to prepare and submit to the Agencies for approval
a plan for mutual aid among the Agencies in the event of disaster
or extreme emergency;
2. That in the event one or more of the Agencies suffers

a disaster or extreme emergency, the .City Council of the City
of Chula Vista will furnish aid to said Agency or Agencies ih
accordance with the approved mutual aid plan to be developed
by said Coordinator to the extent that the resources of the
City Council of the City of Chula Vista permit .
3. That the present duly appointed and acting Director of
Civil Defense of the City of Chula Vista, and any successor to
said office is hereby designated and directed to act with and ,
assist the Coordinator in the preparation of the mutual aid
plan and to provide liaison between the Coordinator and this
Agency;
4. That this resolution and order shall take effect and
become a binding agreement upon the Agencies when the terms of
this resolution and order have been adopted as such by the govern- ,
ing-bodies of all of the Agencies.
5. That Resolution No. 117$ is superceded hereby.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 14th day of October, 1952.
