ITEM TITLE: Resolution /c '_9 f' Accepting contract work - pavement
reconstruction and overlay of City parking lots 5 and 6

The City Council on April 2, 1985, by Resolution 11978 awarded the contract
for the reconstruction and overlay of City parking lots 5 and 6 to Cocco
Construction Company. The contract date is April 16, 1985. The work is now
complete.
RECOMMENDATION: That Council adopt resolution accepting the contract work.
BOARDS/COMMISSIONS RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable.
DISCUSSION:
Cocco Construction Company completed the pavement reconstruction and overlay
of City parking lots 5 and 6 on May 15, 1985. A final inspection was made on
May 20, 1985. Final quantities and construction costs have now been
reconciled with the contractor. All work has been completed in accordance
with the plans and specifications and to the satisfaction of the City Engineer.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT:
Authorized expenditure $32,200.00
Contract amount 27,982.00
Final construction cost 25,728.00
Balance of authorized expenditure 6,472.00
Engineering staff time from point of
inception to period ending May 23, 1985 $ 1 ,525.43
Full cost recovery $1 ,525.43 x 2.238 = $ 3,413.91
FISCAL IMPACT: City will assume maintenance of the improvements.
