HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Statement 1985/02/26 Item 13 COUNCIL AGENDA STATEMENT Item 13 Meeting Date 2/26/85 ITEM TITLE: Resolution //' , 1 7 Authorizing the Expenditure of up to $500 from the Appropriated Contingency Reserve for costs incurred in hosting Southern California Sister Cities Conference SUBMITTED BY: Assistant City Manager (4/5ths Vote: Yes No X ) REVIEWED BY: City Manager 'lie At the February 5th meeting., the City Counci] ,by minute action, authorized the expenditure of up to $500 from the appropriated Contingency Reserve to be utilized by the International Friendship Commission in meeting certain financial responsibilities incurred in hosting the Southern California Sister Cities Conference in April 1985. RECOMMENDATION: Adopt resolution authorizing the expenditure of up to $500 from the appropriated Congingency Reserve. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: To concur with staff recommendation. DISCUSSION: The City of Chula Vista will be hosting the Southern California Sister Cities Conference in April 1985 and certain financial obligations will be incurred as the host city. Monies expended by the City in hosting the conference will be returned to the City's contingency reserve as a result of an agreement between the City and the County of San Diego wherein this activity was identified as one of those eligible for funding out of County allocated Transit Occupancy Taxes. Upon furnishing evidence of expenditure to the County, the City will receive 100% reimbursement for expenditures incurred in hosting this conference. FINANCIAL IMPACT: None. ERA:lm All3sist WPC 9000I
