HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Statement 1986/06/10 Item 14 COUNCIL AGENDA STATEMENT Item 14 Meeting Date 6/10/86 ITEM TITLE: Resolution / r7;7 Approving the negotiated property tax exchange relating to the Palomar/Bay Boulevard reorganization SUBMITTED BY: Director of Finance , Director of Planning 1� REVIEWED BY: City Manager l6 (4/5ths Vote: Yes No X ) On November 5, 1985, the City Council initiated the reorganization of 63.1 acres of uninhabited land currently located within the jurisdictional boundaries of the City of San Diego. The property is situated on the west side of Bay Boulevard and immediately north of Palomar Street extended. A property tax exchange is required before LAFCO can act on the reorganization. RECOMMENDATION: Adopt the resolution. BOARDS/COMMISSIONS RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable. DISCUSSION: A number of actions have occurred with respect to this reorganization thus far. The General Plan designation and prezoning have been established. The City of San Diego has consented to the detachment. LAFCO Commission action is pending July 7, 1986, once their staff is in receipt of property tax resolutions from each City, San Diego and Chula Vista. The City of San Diego is expected to adopt a similar resolution on June 10, 1986. This is the final action required to move this item forward to public hearing before LAFCO. The total property tax is proposed to revert to the City of Chula Vista. FISCAL IMPACT: A total of $ 1 ,169 will be reallocated to the City of Chula Vista.
