RECOMMENDATION: Place the ordinance on first reading. BOARDS/COMMISSIONS RECOMMENDATION: N/A DISCUSSION: At its August 5, 1986 meeting, the City Council (Moore) in response to a San- written cohnnunication from t Fred Lee,to prepare an ordinance�on, s stent gwi h uthe Humane Society, directed staff County ordinance to protect animals being transported in vehicles or left in unattended vehicles. The ordinance is designed to require people to take measures to o m prevent animals from falling from eing thrown from or prohibit d from lealving gtheir animals vehicles. In addition, pe p le wo is in an unattended vehicle without Society and the aSPCA. Ite is rahe Humane strongly supported by the Humane Society's position that all incorporated ncorder to most effectively saveothe enact the same legislation as the County lives of animals and to prevent accidents on our roads and highways. At its meeting of August 12, 1986,rsueo state legislation which would require League of California Cities to pursue animals in restraint of animals in motor vehicles and prohibit leaving unattended vehicles.
