On March 15, 1986, Council adopted a resolution amending its previous application. The proposed reorganization now involves the detachment from the City of San Diego of two separate areas of vacant land totaling acres,Die lying City Council of passed Interstate 805 resolution approving Otay Valley Road. RECOMMENDATION: That Council adopt a resolution approving the proposed "Otay Valley/Palm Avenue Reorganization" involving the annexation of approximately 242 acres within the City of San Diego. BOARDS/COMMISSIONS RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable. DISCUSSION: The subject territory consists of two separate areas of vacant land totaling e 242 acres, lying easterly of Interstate 805 and south of Otay Valley oadl(see attached exhibit). Area "A" consists of approximately 31 adjacent to and easterly northerly strip Interstate o 80 Area "A" i i n south the 1 oodway Chula Vista boundary. The Wort y floodplain of the Otay River and the southerly p art is characterized by steep slopes. Area "B" is approximately 211 acres and is located westerly of the north/south segment of Otay Valley Road. Within Area "B" , the northwest corner is within the floodway and floodplain. The southern third of the area is characterized by steep slopes.
