RECOMMENDATION: That City Council accept bids and award contract to
Asphalt, Inc. - El Cajon, CA in the amount of $234,381 .28.
BOARDS/COMMISSIONS RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable.
DISCUSSION:
Bids were received from two contractors as follows:
$234,381 .28
1 . Asphalt, Inc. - El Cajon 264 788.88
2. California Pavement Maintenance Co. , Inc. - San Diego
The low bid by Asphalt, Inc. was above the Engineer's estimate of $218,502.40
by $15,878.88 or 7.3%.
We have reviewed the bid and Asphalt, Inc. 's
qualifications to perform the work. We believe both to be satisfactory and
recommend awarding the contract
