Management Services' offices in City Hall

On February 18, 1986, RONCO Construction Company was awarded the contract for
remodeling offices for the Management Services Department by the City
Council . Prior to his retirement, the Director of Building and Housing
inspected the work and found it to be satisfactory with the exception of a
short list of deficiencies. The company has since corrected all of these
deficiencies.
RECOMMENDATION: That Council adopt the resolution accepting the remodeled
Management Services' offices in City Hall .

DISCUSSION:
Work on the remodeling project commenced on March 31 ,
1986. The project
completion date was June 25, 1986, when staff moved into the new offices. An
inspection of the work was extremely satisfied with the work and

Completion of the remodeling project was delayed a total of 32 working days.
This delay principally resulted from undertaking a reassessment of the planned

IMPACT: The original contract budgeted a total of $42,281 .00 for the
remodeling project, which included $3,300 for contingencies. Of this amount,
a total of $42,245.00 in construction related expense was incurred. Field
Change Orders totaled $3,261 compared to the $3,300 budgeted for contingencies.
