HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Statement 1987/07/14 Item 17 COUNCIL AGENDA STATEMENT Item 17 Meeting Date 7/14/87 ITEM TITLE: Resolution (3 t 33 Accepting the backbone public improvements, EastLake I PlanneResidential Development SUBMITTED BY: Director of Public Works/City ngineer t REVIEWED BY: City Manage (4/5ths Vote: Yes No X ) EastLake Development Company has completed the backbone public improvements for their EastLake I Planned Unit Development project. The improvement agreement was approved by Council Resolution No. 12302 on December 17, 1985. RECOMMENDATION: That Council adopt the resolution accepting public improvements. BOARDS/COMMISSIONS RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable. DISCUSSION: The EastLake I Planned Residential Development is located on both sides of East "H" Street, east of Corral Canyon Road (see locator map). The facilities to be accepted by Council include: a. East "H" Street - Corral Canyon Road to EastLake Drive b. EastLake Drive - Hillside Drive to Lakeshore Drive c. Lakeshore Drive d. Hillside Drive - Rue Avallon to Rue Marsellies e. drainage improvements f. sewer improvements Final inspections of the public improvements in this Planned Residential Development were held from May to November 1986. Letters of deficiencies were prepared and sent to the developer on July 29 and November 18, 1986. Since then, staff has diligently worked with EastLake Development Company representatives to achieve completion of the corrective work deemed necessary before the improvements may be accepted by the City Council . As of June 30, 1987, all but the following work was found to be completed in accordance with the approved plans and to the satisfaction of the City Engineer. a. EastLake Drive - Lakeshore Drive to future Route 125 b. East "H" Street - east of EastLake Drive c. landscaping fronting along Units 14 and 22 d. erosion control and landscaping (to be accepted in the near future by the City Landscape Architect) 17 Page 2, Item Meeting Date 7/14/87 These improvements, however, have been bonded separately by the developer to allow the remainder (and majority) of the improvements to be accepted by the City. Acceptance of the backbone facilities will in turn permit the acceptance of the improvements built by the individual developers to serve their subdivision. FISCAL IMPACT: The City will assume maintenance of the backbone facilities within the EastLake Planned Unit Development Project.
