ITEM TITLE: Resolution Z;47.51,/ Reciting the fact of the Special
Mail Ballot Election held in said City on Tuesday,
December 16, 1986 on the Rent Control Initiative and
declaring the results thereof and such other matters
as are provided by law

The Special Mail Ballot election held on Tuesday, December 16 ,
1986, as consolidated, had a voter turnout of 34 . 93% .
In accordance with the City Clerk ' s Certificate of Canvass, as
Certified by the Acting Registrar of Voters, Proposition A - the
Rent Control Initiative was defeated.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution reciting the above
result.
DISCUSSION:
The official tally was delivered to the City Clerk on Friday,
December 19, 1986. Copies have been given to the City Council and
the media.
FISCAL IMPACT: The exact amount is not known at this time. On
September 18, 1986 , $15, 500 was sent to the Registrar of Voters
for advanced estimated payment . The final invoice will be
received by the end of month of January, 1987 .
