Home My WebLink AboutReso 1990-15728 RESOLUTION NO. 15728 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA URGING CALTRANS TO SUPPORT THE CONSTRUCTION OF STATE ROUTE 125 The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, State Route 125 has been recognized as vital to the arterial traffic circulation network for the San Diego regional outer loop; and WHEREAS, the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) in cooperation with CalTrans conducted a study known as the "Advanced Transportation System Development Demonstration Program" and concluded that advancing transportation links to Otay Mesa, such as SR-125, is critical to the area's economic development; and WHEREAS, SR-125 is on the City's General Plan and is an important link in the Eastern Chula Vista Circulation Element; and WHEREAS, the City of Chula Vista is contributing funding for route adoption studies; and WHEREAS, there is not presently adequate funds in the State or Federal budgets to construct SR-125. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby give general support to the construction of State Route 125 and will consider supporting innovative financing techniques that could be used to finance this project.
