LEASE OF REAL PROPERTY FOR SCHOOL PURPOSES
•
THIS INDENTURE of lease made this 10th day of July, 1956 by and
between the City of Chula Vista, a municipal corporation, acting by
and through its City Council, hereinafter called Lessor, and the Chula
Vista City School District of San Diego County, California, acting by
and through its Governing Board, hereinafter called Lessee;
WITNESSETH: •
That the Lessor hereby leases to the Lessee the following described
real property, to-wit:
One two-unit one story frame dwelling located at 502 and 504
Shasta Drive in the City of Chula Vista, County of San Diego,
State of California.
UPON THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
1, The term of this lease shall commence on the 1st day of July,
1956, and shall end on the 30th day of June, 1957.

2. Lessee agrees to pay and the Lessor agrees to accept as rent
for the said demised property the sum of Forty-eight and 50/100 Dollars
($+8.50) per month for each unit, a total of Ninety-seven Dollars ($97.00)0
• per month, payable on the 30th day of each month, commencing July 30, 1956.
3. The Lessor shall not be liable for any damages or injuries to
' • persons or property occurring or arising upon said premises from any
cause whatsoever.
•
4+. ThbeLessee shall have the right to make such installations
and improvements as are necessary for the proper use of the property.
Such installations and improvements shall remain the property of the
Lessee and shall be removed upon termination of the lease. Lessee will

not make .any installations or improvements without written consent of
the Lessor. .
5. Lessee, upon termination of the lease, agrees to leave the
premises in' as .good condition as at the commencement of this lease
save normal wear and tear.

6. Lessee agrees to carry adequate fire insurance to cover any
possible damage or destruction of the building by fire.
7. Said Lessee shall pay for all utilities used upon said pre-
mises. Lessor shall not be liable nor required to maintain or repair

said premises excepting such repairs as may become necessary to the
roof of said building through normal wear and tear,
•
8. Lessee hereby agrees that if it fails to pay any of said
installments of rent when due Lessor may if he so elects cancel this
lease and re-enter and take possession of said premises without legal
process, all damages for said entry being expressly waived,
IN WITNESS WHEREOF Lessor and Lessee have caused this instrument
