RESOLUTION NO. 1872
RESOLUTION APPROVING AGREEMENT TO CONDUCT
RECREATION CENTERS
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA,
CALIFORNIA, AS FOLLOWS:
That that certain agreement to conduct recreation centers, a
copy of which is attached hereto and made a part and parcel hereof,
as if set forth herein in full, is hereby approved and the Mayor
of said City is hereby authorized and directed to execute the same
on behalf of said City of Chula Vista. ,

CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA, this26th day of June 1956

THLS AGRF;F:WNT entered into this first day of July, 1956, by and
between the Chula Vista City Schools (Elementary), of San Diego County,
California, acting by and through its Governing Board hereinafter referred
to as the Elementary School District; and the Sweetwater Union High School
District, of San Diego County, California, acting by and through its
Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the High School District; and
the City of Chula Vista, a municipal corporation, acting by and through
its City Council, hereinafter referred to as the City:
WITNESSETH:
The parties hereto do mutually agree as follows:
1. To establish, maintain and operate, during the twelve month period
beginning July 1, 1956 and ending June 30, 1957, pursuant to the Community
Recreation Act (Sections 24401-2WW111 incl, Education Code), Community
Recreation Centers on the respective premises of the parties hereto.
2. To establish a Board of Recreation Commissioners, which Board shall
be known as the Chula Vista Park Recreation Commission, and which shall take
charge of and supervise the establishment, maintenance and operation of said
recreation centers; said Board to consist of the following five members who
shall serve without compensation: ROBERT JOHNSON represent-
ing the Elementary District: CHESTER DeVORE , representing the
High School District: JOHN ANDERSON and laIT.T,TAI;1 RAT ,NN
representing the City, and ED ER SORENSEN , member
at large.
3. To contribute to said Board of Recreation Commissioners for the
establishment, maintenance and operation by said Board of said recreation
centers, the following sums respectively: the Elementary District, $9,000.00 ,
the High School District $9,000.00 , and the City $18,000.00
each party to pay its contribution in two equal installments on August 1,1956
and on January 15, 1957, respectively; any unexpended balance may be
refunded to each party on prorate basis of its respective contribution to
the above named total if requested by all parties to this contract.

4. Each party hereto agrees to assume liability only for those
adtivities conducted on its own premises under the recreation program, and
to secure adequate insurance to cover the same at its own expense.
5. That the said funds hereinbefore referred to in Paragraph 3
shall be deposited with the City, and the same shall only be expended on
purchase order requisition or for the payment of salaries: said requisi-
tions to be approved by the City Purchasing Agent and then paid by the

Finance Officer. The entire amount of funds shall be administered by the
City, that all personnel employed by means of these funds shall be considered
employees of the City. That said funds shall only be used for the purposes
herein stated.
6. This agreement shall terminate on the 30th day of June, 1957.
