RESOLUTION NO. 1971
• RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CHULA VISTA DECLARING ITS INTENTION
TO CALL AN ELECTION FOR THE PURPOSE OF
ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY TO THE CITY
OF CHULA VISTA AND FIXING TIME AND PLACE
FOR HEARING PROTESTS BY PROPERTY OWNERS
RESIDING WITHIN SAID DISTRICT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA, CALIFORNIA:
That it is the intention of the City Council of the City of
Chula Vista to call a special election to be held on the 19th day of
November, 1957, in that certain inhabited territory contiguous to said
city proposed to be annexed thereto, for the purpose of submitting to
the qualified electors residing in said territory the question whether
or not said territory shall be annexed to the City of Chula Vista and
the property in the territory subjected to taxation after annexation
equally with property within the City of Chula Vista.
Said territory is described on the attached exhibit, marked
Exhibit "A", and made a part and parcel hereof as if set forth herein
in full.
That said territory hereby id designated and identified as
Hilltop Highlands Annexation..
Notice is hereby given that on the 10th day of September,
1957, at the hour of 7:00 Otclock P.M., in the Council Chambers at
Civic Center in the City of Chula Vista, any person owning real property
within said territory so proposed to be annexed and having any objection
to the proposed annexation may appear before said City Council and show cause
why such territory should not be annexed. Such protest must be in writing and
shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of the property affected
by such annexation and the, location and area of such property in general
terms. If it be found that protest is not made by owners of a majority of

the separgte parcels of property within the territory proposed to be
annexed, further proceedings shall be taken in accordance with the law for
the holding of such special election.
That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolu-
tion and cause the same to be published at least once each week for two
weeks prior to the said hearing in a newspaper of general circulation published
in the territory proposed to be annexed, or if there is none, in a newspaper
of general circulation published in the City of Chula Vista.
The City Clerk shall also cause written notice of such proposed
annexation to be mailed to each owner of an equitable or legal interest in
land other than an easement or right of way within the territory to be
annexed who has filed his name and address and general description of such
land sufficient to identify it on the last equalized county assessment roll,
with said clerk. Said notice shall be mailed not less than 20 days before
the first public hearing of the proposed annexation.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the CITY COUNCIL of
the CITY OF CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA, this 13th
Day of August, 1957 by the following

PROPOSED HILLTOP HIGHLANDS ANNEXATION
to the City of Chula Vista
All that portion of the Southwest one quarter of Quarter
Section 112 of the Rancho de la Nacion, in the County of San Diego,
State of California, according to Map thereof No. 166, filed
May 11 , 1869 in the office of the County Recorder of said San Diego
County, described as follows:
1 . Beginning at the Southeast corner of said Southwest one
quarter of One Quarter Section 112.
2. Thence South 70°00' 51" Wiest along the Southerly line of
said Southwest one quarter, 1301 „93 feet to the .E'asteriy line of
Hilltop Drive.
3, Thence North 19°07 '24" Vest along said Easterly line of
Hilltop Drive 1273.65 feet to a point in the Southerly line of the
Northerly 48 feet of said Southwest one quarter.
4. Thence North 70°06'50 East along said Southerly line, 200
feet to the Easterly line of the Yi:l?steriy 240 feet of said South-
west one quarter.
5, Thence South 19°07124" East along said Easterly line,
778,20 feet to the Northerly line of the Southerly 495 feet of said
Southwest one quarter.
6, Thence North 70°00151`/ East along said Northerly line,
1101 .95 feet to the Easterly line of said Southwest one quarter.
