CAMPBELL, City Clerk of the City of Chula Vista, California DO HEREBY CERTIFY that the • above and foregoing is a full, true and correct copy of and that the same has not been amended or repealed. , DATED: City Clerk • AGREEMENT TO CONDUCT RECREATION PLAYGROUNDS • • THIS AGREEMENT ENTERED INTO this first dal of July, 1957, by and between the Chula Vista City Schools (Elementary), of San Diego County, California, acting by and through its Governing Board hereinafter referred to as the Elementary School District; and the Sweetwater Union High School District, of San Diego County, California, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the High School District; and the City of Chula • • ....-:.: ' Vista, a municipal corporation, acting by and through its City Council, hereinafter referred to as the City: W I T N E S S E T• H: The parties hereto do mutually agree as follows: • • • • 1;.. To establish, maintain and operate, during the twelve month period beginning July 1, 1957 and ending June 30, 1958, pursuant to the Community • . Recreation Act (Sections 24401-24411 incl. Education Code), Community Recreation Centers on the respective premises of the parties hereto. 2. To establish a Board of Recreation Commissioners, which Board shall • be known as the Chula Vista Park Recreation Commission, and which shall take charge of and supervise the establishment, maintenance and operation of said recreation centers; said Board to consist of the following five members who • • shall serve without compensation: ROBERT JOHNSON, representing the • Elementary District: CHESTER DE YORE, representing the High School District: • • JOHN ANDERSON and WILLIAM RATHMANN, representing the City, and VANITTA OLINGER, member at large. • 3. To contribute to said Board of Recreation Commissioners for the establishment, maintenance and operation by said Board of said Recreation/ • Centers,, the following sums respectively: the Elementary District, $9,000.00, the High School District, $9,000.00, and the City, $18,000.00, each party to pay its contribution in two equal installments on August 1, 1957 and on • January 15, 1958, respectively; any unexpended balance may be refunded to each party on prorate basis of its respective contribution to the above named total if requested by all parties to this contract. -1- Co - C)c� • • • - p_ . • AGREEMENT TO CONDUCT RECREATION PI Y 1 ko-Ors a '3 4. Each party hereto agrees to assume liability only for those • activities conducted on its own premises under the recreation program, and to secure.adequate insurance to cover the same at its own expense. 5. That the said funds hereinbefore referred to in Paragraph 3 shall be deposited with the City, and the same shall only be expended on purchase order requisition or for the payment of salaries; said requisi- • tions to be approved by the City Purchasing Agent and then paid by the Finance Officer. The entire amount of funds shall be administered by the • City, that all personnel employed by means of these funds shall be considered employees of the City. That said funds shall only be used for the purposes herein stated. 6.
