HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1990-15685 NOT APPROVED RESOLUTION NO. 15685 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA ADOPTING POLICY ON GRADING PROCESS AND GRADING PLANS ON NEW SUBDIVISIONS The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, due to Council's concern over number of lots in Eastern Territories that were being graded in advance of the ability to get building permits, staff presented a report on the grading process; and WHEREAS, said report has been forwarded to the development community for their input at the Council meeting of June 19, 1990; and WHEREAS, staff recommends as an intermediate policy that no grading permit be issued until a final map has been approved and if a developer wishes to have a grading permit based on the tentative map prior to final map approval, that the request go to the City Council for specific approval; and WHEREAS, it is also recommended that the question of advance grading be discussed as part of the Growth Management Element; and WHEREAS, the interim policy will be in effect until the current growth management study is completed and that the ultimate policy be formulated in connection with the Growth Management Study. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby adopt the following interim grading permit regulations: 1. No grading permit will be issued by staff until a final map has been approved. 2. If a developer wishes to have a grading permit based on the tentative map prior to final map approval, the request will go to the City Council for specific approval. 3. The question of advance grading will be discussed as part of the Growth Management Element.
