HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1958-2080 RESOLUTION Noo 2080 RESOLUTION GIVING NOTICE OF THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA AND CHULA VISTA CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT° IN THE COUNTY OF SAN DIEGO° STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO BE KNOWN AS BUF0RD-MORRIS ANNEXATION WHEREAS on the 17th day of _bay , l9 580 there was filed in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Chula Vista a written petition for the annex as ttion too incorporation and in- lesion in° the City of Chula Vista of certain uninhabited territory particularly d,scribed in said p,tition0 and hereinafter described° located in the County of Ban Dieo° State of California„ pursuant to the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 19390 as amended; and WHEREAS said petition was signed by the own.rs of all the land in such territory by area and by value as shown on the last equalized assessment roll of the County of San Diego,, in which such territory is situated; and WHEREAS said Petition was also accompanied by the written consent of the owners of said uninhabited territory that the same: may be taxed to pay its proportionate share of any indebtedness or liability of the City of Chula Vista contracted prior to or existing at the time of the annexation thereof. NOW° THEREFORE° BE IT RESOLVED° by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista,, as follows: THAT pursuant to the terms and provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 19390 as amended; NOTICE IS HEY GIVEN of the proposed annexation too incorpora- tion and inclusion in° the City of Chula Vista and Chula Vista City School District of certain uninhabited territory in the County of San Diego contiguous to the City of Chula Vista. The boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed to the City of Chul Vista and Chula Vist City School District are more particularly described as follows: 1 __ An uninhaMted portion of the unincorporated area of the County of San Diego, State of California, being a portion of Quarter Section 116 of Rancho de la Nacion, according to Nap Nov 166 on file in the County Recorder's Office of said San Diego County described as follows: Beginning at the Northwesterly Corner of the South half of said Quarter Section 116; 1. Thence North 690 24' 10" East 664.83 feet to a point on the boundary line of the Judson Reservoir Lands Annexation to the City of Chula Vista; 2. Thence continuing North 69° 24' •10" East 664.83 feet along said boundary line; 3. Thence South 180 37' 00" East 329.85 feet along said boundary line; 4. Thence North 71° 21' 30" East 1324.65 feet along said boundary line to the Easterly line of said Quarter Section 116; 5. Thence leaving said boundary line, South 190 East 990 feet, more or less, along the Easterly line of said Quarter Section 116 to the Southeasterly corner thereof; 6e Thence South 710 West along the Southerly line of said Quarter Section 116, 1320 feet, more or less, to the Southwesterly corner of the Southeast Quarter thereof; . 7. Thence North 190 West along the Westerly line of said Southeast Quarter 660 feet, more or less, to the Southeasterly corner of the North half of the Southwest Quarter of said Quarter Section 116; 8. Thence South 710 West along the Southerly line of said North half of the• South. west Quarter 1320 feet, more or less, to the Westerly line of said Quarter Section 116; 9. Thence North 19° West along the said Westerly line 660 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning. The above described parcel contains 50 Acres. That said territory is hereby designated as Buford-Morris Annexation _ NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that on the 9th day Of September 1958 at the hour of 7:00 o°clock P.M. , in the Council Chamber in the City Hall, Civic Center, Chula Vista, California, at a regular meet- ing of the City Council of said City, any person owning real property within such territory proposed to be annexed and having any objections to the proposed annexation, may appear before the City Council and show cause why such territory should not be so annexed. At any time not later than the said hour set for hearing objections to the proposed annexation, any owner of property within the territory proposed to be annexed may file written protest against the proposed annexation, -2- • Such protest shil state the name or names of the owner or owners of the property affected thereby and the description and area of such property in general terms. BE IT 'FURTHER RESOLVED° that the City Clerk of said City beg and he is hereby directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least twice9 but not oft,ner than once a week9 in the official newspaper of said City° to-wit: The Chula Vista Star-News9 a newspaper of general circulation published in said City, and also in a newspaper of general circulation published outside of the City but in the County in which is located the territory proposed to be annexed; said publication to be complete at least 20 days prior to the date set for the hearing. Said City Clerk shall also cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last equalized County assessment roll available on the date these proceedings are initiated° at the address shown on said assessment rolls or as known to said Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and the designation of the 'lands in which he has any interest, either legal or equitable, with said Clerk. In the event any land within the territory proposed to be annexed is owned by the County of San Diego° said City Clerk shall also cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such County. The notices referred to shall be given not less than 20 days before the said public hearing on the proposed hearing.
