CANDIDATES Ar'D DESIGNATED EA4PLOY�ES V�1IO ARE REQliIRED TO FILE PERIODIC STATEh4ENTS OF ECONOMIC II�'TERESTS AND THE DISCLOSURE CATEGORIES FOR SAID FILERS. THEREBY REQUIRING THEM TO PARTICIPATE II`' A�ANDATED ETHICS TRAII�TII�'G �1'HEREAS_ the Political Reform Act (California Go��emment Code sections 87100 through 91014), requires certain officials and candidates to file Statements of Economic Interests (Form 700) and requires local government asencies to adopt and promulgate conflict of interest codes: and � V�'HEREAS, the Ciri- Council adopted Ordinance No. 2807; adoptin� b�� reference the standardized conflict of interest code contained in Title 2 of the California Code of Reeulations. Section 18730: and anv amendments thereto that aze adopted b}� the Fair Political Practices Commission: and l�'HEREAS; the ordinance requires that the City Council set forth b}� resolution the officials and desi�nated emplovees �+�ho are required to file statements of economic interests and the disclosure cateeories under���hich each such official and desienated emplo}�ee shall file; and I��HEREAS. the Political Reform Act requires e��er}� local agencv to re��ie�v its Conflict of Interest Code periodically to determine if amendments are necessary; and WHEREAS. the Cin� Attome�� and the Cin- Clerk ha��e revie«�ed the Code and its Appendis, consulted �rith Department Directors. and determined that amendments to the Appendis ofthe Code are necessaz}; and . ���HEREAS. the City Council desires that all City emplo��ees «�ho aze required to file Form 700 under the Citv's Conflict of[nterest Code be desienated as "Local Aeencv Officials." as defined in Go��ernment Code §�3234(c)(2), thereb�� requiring them to participate in the ethics trainine mandated b�� AB 1234: and R%HEREAS_ the list of officials. candidates and desianated emplo��ees of the Cin� of Chula \'ista �rho are required to file periodic statements of economic interests, and the disclosure categories under which each such official, candidate or designated emplo}�ee is required to file, was presented to the City Council and is attached hereto as Eshibit A and made a part of this resolution. BE IT RESOLVED bv the Citv Council of the Citv of Chula Vista; that it hereby modify the appendi�+ to the local Conflict of Interest Code to amend the ]ist of officials, candidates and designated employees who are required to file periodic statements of economic interests, and the disclosure categories for said filers, in the form presented and as reflected in Eshibit "A" to this resolution, a copy of N�hich shall be kept on file in the Office of the Citv Clerk.
