HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2014-221 RESOLUTION NO. 2014-221 RESOLUTION OF THE CITI' COLTNCIL OF THE CITI' OF CHULA VISTA ACCEPTING A REPORT PREPAR.ED Bl' STAFF RECOMMEI�'DIIrTG AI�' UPDATED TRAI�'SPORTATION DEVELOPA4EI�TT IA�IP.ACT FEE TO MITIGATE TRAt�'SPORTATION IMPACTS V�'ITHII�' THE CITY'S EASTERI�' TERRITORIES " �1'HEREAS; the amount oF the Transportation Development Impact Fee (TDIF) has not been comprehensivel}� updated since 200�. ho���e�er durino this time infrastructure and land uses have been modified: and WHEREAS, pursuant to the Municipal Code and California Government Code section 66000 et seq., the Citv has caused a stud�� to be conducted by staff entitled "Eastem Area Transportation Development Impact Fee' ('the Report `) dated September 2014; and WHEREAS, the Report anal}�zes and e��aluates the impacts of de��elopment on the transportation system for the City's eastem temtories and sets the de��elopment impact fee at a le��el necessary to pay for the transportation facilities required to mitigate the impacts of such development: and �i'HEREAS; the 2014 update incorporates the follo���ine major chanees: • Cost estimates updated to reflect 2014 industn� prices • Updates remaining Equivalent D«-elline Unit (EDU) count ���ithin benefit area to account for land use chanees since 200� • Updates title and scope of��-ork for: �6� Transportation S}�stem Management (formerlv Traffic Management Center) to include si2nal s��stems equipment for adapti��e signals, vehicular detection equipment and fiber optic s��stem. �67 Main Sveet/Hunte Parkwa}� Overcrossing at SR-12� to include the on-ramps R off-ramps. BE IT RESOLVED by the Cit}� Council of the City of Chula Vista, that it does hereby accept the report prepared by staff recommending an updated Transportation Development Impact Fee to mitigate transportation impacts ��ithin the Citys eastem territories.
