RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA AUTHORIZING AND SUPPORTING THE SUBMITTAL OF A
GRANT APPLICATION TO THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
AGENCY FOR A MATCHING FUNDS GRANT FOR THE PURCHASE OF
ALERT/WARNING PAGING EQUIPMENT, SUPPORTING THE CITY'S
DISASTER PREPAREDNESS PROGRAM
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency has grant monies available
to city disaster programs to purchase communications warning equipment; and,
WHEREAS, the Fire Department recommends that the City submit a grant
application for $1,250 to purchase needed radio equipment for this City's
Disaster Alert/Warning System; and,
WHEREAS, said radio equipment would be used for the benefit of the entire
South Bay Area of San Diego County during times of disaster or major emergency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula
Vista does hereby authorize the submittal of a grant application in the amount
of $1,250 to the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager of the City of Chula Vista
is authorized to sign the Application for Federal Assistance (Standard Form424).
