HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1959-2325 • RESOLUTION No, 2325 RESOLUTION GIVING NOTICE OF THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA AND CHULA VISTA CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT, IN THE COUNTY OF SAN DIEGO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO BE KNOWN AS RIENSTRA ANNEXATION WHEREAS on the 21st day of September 19 59 © there was filed in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Chula Vista a written petition for the annexation to, incorporation and inclusion in, the City of Chula Vista of certain uninhabited territory particularly described in said petition, and hereinafter described, located in the County of San Diego, State of California, pursuant to the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, as amended; and WHEREAS said petition was signed by the owners of all the land in such territory by area and by value as shown on the last equalized assessment roll of the County of San Diego, in which such territory is situated; and WHEREAS said petition was also accompanied by the written-. - consent of the owners of more than two-thirds of the value of said un- inhabited territory that the same may be taxed. to pay its proportionate share of any indebtedness or liability of the City of Chula Vista con- tracted prior to or existing at the time of the annexation thereof. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista, as follows: THAT pursuant to the terms and provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, as amended; NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of the proposed annexation to, incorporation and inclusion in, the City of Chula Vista and Chula Vista City School District of certain uninhabited territory in the County of San Diego contiguous to the City of Chula Vista. The boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed to the City of Chula Vista and Chula Vista City School District are more particularly described as follows: 1 • • All that unincorporated area in the County of San Diego, State of California, in Quarter Section 93, Rancho de is Nacion, according to map thereof No. l66 filed in the office of the County Recorder May ii , • 1869, described as follows: • Beginning at the Southwest corner of Quarter Section 93; 1 . Thence North 18037 ,20" 'west a distance of 660 feet, more or less, to the Northwest corner of the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Quarter Section 93; 2. Thence Easterly, along the North line of the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Quarter Section 93, a distance of 660 feet, more or less, to the Northeast corner of said Southwest Quarter of Southwest Quarter of Quarter Section 93; • 3. Thence Southerly, along the East • line of the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Quarter Section 93, a distance of 472 feet more or less to the Northwesterly right--of-way line of a 250 foot San Diego Gas and Electric Company right-of-way; 4. Thence South 40° 12 '40" a"est, along the Northwesterly right-of-way line of said right--of-way, a distance of 364 feet more or less to the South line of the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Quarter Section 93; 5. Thence `''es ter ly, along the Southl ine of the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Quarter Section 93, a distance of 348 feet more or less to the Point of Beginning. Said Annexation contains approximately 9.33 acres . • • That said territory is hereby designated as Rienstra Annexation NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that on the 3rd day of November 1959 . • at the hour of 7:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chamber at the City Hall, Civic Center, Chula Vista, California, at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City, any person owning real property within such territory proposed to be annexed and having any objections to the pro- posed annexation, may appear before the City Council and show cause why such territory should not be so annexed. At any time not later than the said hour set for hearing objections to the proposed annexation, any owner of property within the territory proposed to be annexed may file written protest against the proposed annexation. • • • f) Such protest shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of the property affected thereby and the description and area of such property in general terms, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk of said City be, and he is hereby directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, in the official newspaper of said City, to-wit: The Chula Vista Star-News, a ,newspaper of general circulation published in said City, in which is located the territory proposed to be annexed; said publica- tion to be complete at least 20 days prior to the date set for the hearing. In the event any land within the territory proposed to be annexed is owned by the County of San Diego, said City Clerk shall also cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such County.
