RESOLUTION OF CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA
• VISTA OPPOSING ANY STATE LEGISLATION PERTAINING
TO CITY EMPLOYEES' WAGES, BENEFITS AND•CONDITIONS
OF EMPLOYMENT
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the City Council
that there may be introduced during the 1961 legislative session
for the State of California, certain bills relating to the
salaries and working conditions of city employees; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that such legis-
lation, if mandatory upon cities, would violate the principle
of home rule.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the City, Council of the City of Chula Vista is
opposed to the passage of any mandatory State legislation
pertaining to city employees' wages, benefits, and conditions
of employment and that said legislation would be a violation of
the home rule principle. •
2. That the City Clerk shall send copies of this resolution
to our representative in the State Senate and Assembly and to the
League of California Cities.

ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the CITY COUNCIL of the CITY OF
CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA, this 12th day of July 19 60
by the following vote, to- wit:

NAYS: COUNCILMEN None
