In response to questions from Councilmember Ramirez, Mrs Luzzaro, Mc Morales, and Mc Wzzaro,
Chula Vista residenfs, spoke in support o(creating more open space in the City
Councilmember Rami2z moved to table the ifem, and rafer it back fo staff to engage in community
outreach and continue to negohate the purchase pnce with the landowner
Councilmember Salas offered a substitute mofion to continue the item for a penod of approzimate/y six
months fo allow stafl to engage in public outreach and provide additional informa6on fo Council.
ACTION: A motion was made by Councilmember Salas, seconded by Councilmember
Ramirez, to conEnue the item for a period of approximately six months to allow
staff to engage in public outreach and provide additional information to Council.

14. 14-0607 Update regarding Illegal Campaign Sign Enforcement (City Attorney,
Public Works and Code Enforcement)
City Attomey Googins presented an update regarding the illegal placement of campaign signs m Chula
V�sta for the November 2014 election.
MAYOR'S REPORTS
Mayor Cox announced the upcoming opening of the west end of H Street. She a/so spoke regarding the
Animal Care Facility's adoption program.
15. 14-0609 RATIFICATION OF APPOINTMENT OF YOANA BANDALA TO THE
INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP COMMISSION
ACTION: A motion was made by Mayor Cox, seconded by Councilmember Ramirez, to
approve the ratification of appointment of Yoana Bandala to the Internafional
Friendship Commission.The motion carried by the following vote:

Deputy Mayor Aguilar provided an update on the eHorts to reinstate the SfaAight Parade.
Councilmember Bensoussan commended Mayor Coz on the openmg of fhe rabbd and cat enclosure at
the Animal Care Facihty.
Councilmember Salas left the dais at 6 04 p m.
Councilmember Rami�ez also commended Mayor Cox on the opening of the small animal habitat. He
spoke regardmg the 2cent Tijuana Innovadora conference and [hanked City staff who paRicipated in
and supported fhe event He stated he would be representing the C�ty af the upcoming Metropo6tan
Transit System(MTSJ meetmg at which the2 would be discussion on the proposed bi-national rail line.
