RESOLUTION OF THE CITl' COUT�CIL OF THE CITI' OF

SCHEDULE AI�TD CLASSIFICATIOI�' PLAI�' TO REFLECT
THE .ADDITION AND REMO\'AL OF VARIOUS POSITION
TITLES
WHEREAS, Human Resources staff conducted department-initiated classification
re��ieN�s on various positions assigned to the Animal Care Facilit�• and Office of the Ciri� Clerk to
determine if the permanent and on-goine duties and responsibilities of the positions H=ere
assiened to the appropriate classifications: and
N'HEREAS. fiscal constraints and the subsequent loss of administrative support staff at
the Animal Care Facilitv resulted in a need for clerical duties to be absorbed bti� e�:istine animal
caze staff: and y
R'HEREAS. after a thoroush revie��� of the information pro��ided b�� the incumbents and
their supemisor and a revieti� of related documentation. staff recommends that the Animal Caze
Assistant be re-titled to Animal Care Specialis[ and the Senior Animal Care Assistant be re-titled
to Senior Animal Care Specialist Hith no chanees made to the current salar�� ranoes; and
Vl'HEREAS, staff recommends that the Deput�� Cit}� Clerk dassification be re-titled to
Deput�� City Clerk II, establishine a cazeer ad��ancement position, �vhereb}� advancement from
Depun� Cin� Clerk I to Deputy Cit}� Clerk ll could be attained upon successful completion of
established department criteria; and
�'�'HEREAS. a re-oreanization of the Office of the Cit�� 1�4anaeer resulted in a chanse in
the scope of duties and responsibilities assigned to the Assistant to the Cirn �4anaeer/Continuous
Improvement Manaeer; and
WHEREAS, while the position ���ill still manase the Citv's continuous improvement
efforts, the duties and responsibilities of the position ha��e shified from providine hishly complez
assistance to the City Manaeer to managing and facilitatine organizational development
processes and proarams to maintain and impro��e the City's effectiveness and performance; and
�VHEREAS: a tide change from Assistant to the Cit}� 1�lanaeer/Continuous Improvement
Manaeer to Performance and Organizational De��elopment I�4anager better reflects the duties and
responsibilities of the position: and
A'HEREAS. the above title chanaes are reflected in the Re��ised Fiscal 1'eaz 2014/201�
Compensation Schedule and the Cit��'s Classification Plan.

NOVJ, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED; by the City Council of the Cin- of Chula
Vista, that it hereby does adopt the amendments to the Compensation Schedule and
Classification Plan to reflect the addition and removal of various position titles as set forth in the
above Recitals.
