What are your Principal areas of interest in our City government,-and wham experience or special knowledge
can you bring to those areas:
My principle area of interest in our City government is wOrking on the safety Commission. i served on the
Washington state Insurance Q un it who reported to various state agencies about dangerous intersections, based
on our claims data. We successfully petitioned the state Legislature to restrict drivers under 17 to day time, solo
driving only, and l worked on the speakers bureau that made regular visits to high schools to talk to their driver's d
students about safe driving habits. I served on the Safety m ift t Safeco Insurance in Redmond} Washington.
We reviewed traffic flow patterns in the parking garages and around the carpus as well as enforcement of policy
and procedures regarding evacuations and disasters.
What would you hope to accomplish by your participation?:
Chula vista is a great place to live, work, walk, ride bikes and raise a family. As our community continues to gr ow, I'd
like to ensure that we will continuo to be a safe place to live and travel. l believe it is the civic duty of every citizen to
rake their community better. Based on my experience, and interest in safety and traffic patterns, l think the best
wary for me to contribute to my community is to serve on the Safety Commission.

In accordance with the process by the General Rules for Boards & Commissions for membership to the Board
of thics, Leslie Deese, City Manager of National City and Gary Brown- (nova retired), City Manager of
Imperial Beach conducted interviews on June 13, 2013. Ms. Deese and Mr. roves selected an appllca t and
made two recommendations for future vacancies on the Board o Ethics. Ms. Deese and Mr. Brown' third
recommendation is victor Esquer. Mr. Bs qu.er confirmed his interest in serving on the Board of Ethics. Please
put forward for City Council ratification of Ms. Victor Esquer t fill Michael German's' vacant seat on the
Board of Ethics,

Hi Florence, happy rainy day.
I just got called from the Bishop of SW Florida to serve in his diocese (Longboat Key, All Angels). We are moving on
February 22nd. This means that I'll need to resign from the Safety Commission. Please let me know how to proceed with
that.
